The Aperture

The SkyWatcher Skyhawk telescope is a great choice not only for serious beginners but also for seasoned stargazers. Equipped with 114mm of light-gathering aperture and an amazing parabolic mirror, this telescope is very good for the observation of the moon and the night sky.

The Mount

This telescope comes with an EQ1 Equatorial mount, and you can easily track objects as they move across the night sky. You can also view the images in slow motion with its slow-motion control cables.

Parabolic Mirror

What really impressed us when we reviewed this telescope, is its parabolic mirror. This particular model features a premium top quality parabolic mirror. These are normally found in the larger more expensive telescopes on the market.

Secondary Mirror

Apart from this parabolic ‘primary’ mirror, the Skyhawk 1145P also has a 0.5mm ultra-thin secondary mirror. This is crucial in reducing diffraction spikes and light loss. You don’t need to understand this, all you need to know is with this set-up, you will get better clearer images.

Focal Length

With its 500mm focal length, you can easily employ low magnification to get wide fields of view. This focal length is great for seeing the Moon’s surface, star clusters, and some galaxies. Combine this with an impressive 114mm aperture and you have enough power in your hands to impress.

THE REMARKABLE IMAGES THAT YOU WILL GET FROM THIS SKYHAWK 114 TELESCOPE, MAKES IT REALLY STAND OUT FROM THE OTHER TELESCOPES IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE
